The Easter Worship and Celebration is an annual event held at Universitas Gadjah Mada. In 2025, the Christian Student Fellowship (PMK) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) UGM also organized its own Easter Worship and Celebration. This event took place on April 26, 2025 from 04.00 to 07.40 PM at GKJ Samirono Baru. A total of 51 participants attended, comprising committee, alumni, lecturers, and members of PMK FVM UGM as well as participants from Christian fellowships across other faculties at UGM.
The theme for the 2025 Easter Worship and Celebration was “Re” Jah “Venated” inspired by 1 Peter 1: 3-4 which reads “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has given us new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable and undefiled and does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.”
The event began with a praise session, followed by a short drama performance, then a sermon session by Rev. Risang Anggoro Elliarso based on 1 Peter 1:3-4. Participants were reminded that we often read the word of God but do not apply it in our social lives. In addition, we were also reminded that many of the problems we face actually have a political dimension. Rev. Risang Anggoro conveyed that we should reflect on every verse we read, because in each verse there is a hidden meaning that can strengthen our faith and is very relevant to SDGs 4, namely quality education. We are also reminded to be sensitive to others and the surrounding conditions, considering our theme “Re” Jah “Venated”, which means the return of new life and hope thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. This renewal empowers believers to stand against injustice, resonating with SDGs 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
After the sermon session ended, it was continued with offerings and documentation. Followed by a speech from the chairman of the 2024 PMK FVM UGM Easter Worship and Celebration Committee, and the chairman of PMK FVMUGM. Next, there were some games session. The first one was a paper-connecting game and a plastic ball was placed on top, where the winner was the fastest team.
Next, the second game was held, namely throwing an egg ring made of cardboard into a rabbit hat represented by one person from the team. After that, the two winners competed again to find the first winner through the last game, whoever took the most balls using a spatula and put them in the container provided was the winner, this game is related to SDGs no. 3, namely a healthy and prosperous life. Then it ended with prizes being distributed to the winners, then the event was closed with a closing prayer.
Thanks to the cooperation and hard work of the committee and all parties involved, the 2025 PMK FVM UGM Easter Worship and Celebration event was successfully held. This event is expected to create warmth and strengthen the sense of togetherness between PMK FVM UGM and PMK of other faculties at UGM, provide happiness for every participant who attends, and always remind us that God’s love is so wide and His hands are always open to receive anyone who comes to Him. After that the documentation was carried out.
