A series of National Seminar has been done on 30th October 2022 and 5th November 2022 by Himpunan Studi Ternak Produktif (HSTP) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The event was divided into 2 activities, conducted both online by Zoom Meeting and an offline workshop with the farmers at Andini Mulyo Cattle Farm. The National Seminar of HSTP was conducted to empower the knowledge for the veterinarian, vet students, and also for the society, focused on cattle reproduction in FMD outbreak, but also to carry out coaching to partner groups to improve their livestock health in the midst of an outbreak of foot and mouth disease.
The series of HSTP FKH UGM National Seminar activities began with a Reproduction Seminar which was held on Sunday, October 30, 2022. This seminar had the theme “Reproductive Performance of Cattle Post FMD Infection: Field Approach and Scientific Study”. This webinar activity presents three great speakers, namely the first is drh. Taufik Mukti who explained the PMK handling approach from empirical experience in the field. Furthermore, the second speaker was filled in, namely drh. Agung Suganda, M.Sc. which discusses government strategies and policies in efforts to increase cattle productivity after PMK. and closed by our last speaker, drh. Agung Budiyanto, M.P., Ph.D. which discusses the comprehensive scientific study of the impact of FMD on cattle production and reproduction. This seminar was guided by a great moderator who is also an alumni of FKH UGM, namely drh. Paras Tera Hartati who succeeded in guiding the 194 participants who attended and consisted of veterinarians, veterinary faculty students, and the general public.
The next series of activities at the HSTP FKH UGM National Seminar is a workshop with breeders which was held on Saturday, 5 November 2022 at the Andhini Mulyo Cattle Farm. The workshop activities were carried out offline with the theme “Increasing Cow Immunity as an Effort to Control FMD Outbreaks”. This activity was filled with a demonstration of making rations by the Veterinary Clinical Nutrition laboratory assistant and educating farmers on how to increase cow immunity, so they don’t get infected with Foot and Mouth Disease, delivered by a field veterinarian, namely drh.
