On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the Productive Animal Husbandry Study Association (HSTP) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada, successfully held the “HSTP Bergerak” event with the theme “Vet Camp: A Day in the Life of a Veterinarian, Veterinarian in Action.” This event was attended by 84 participants from various high schools in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas.
The series of events began with remarks from the administrators and committees of each student activity unit. After that, there was a presentation about the ideas and work programs of each group as well as a bonding session until 01.00 PM. On this occasion the discussion was active and exciting. Each group gets insight for their betterment in the future, and provides useful feedback to each other. This collaboration activity which was full of valuable impressions and experiences was ended with a group photo.
Exactly at 01.30 PM, we continued our journey to the Jatim Park I tour and arrived at the location around 02.30 PM. As a veterinary student who studies the health of living creatures, the purpose of recreation is very important, especially to maintain good and happy mental health by relieving fatigue in our bodies, apart from aiming to increase solidarity among HSTP members. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions that were rain until a few hours later, the recreation was canceled. At around 04.30 PM, before headed back to the faculty, we took some time to buy souvenirs from Batu-Malang. The trip to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UGM resumed at 06.00 PM and arrived at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UGM around 00.00 AM.
Procamp Gamma activities are in line with supporting the values of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) at points 4 and 17, namely quality education by providing mutual knowledge and understanding of livestock animal health issues and building partnerships of prospective veterinarian colleagues between two different universities. It is hoped that this event can build global cooperation to achieve sustainable goals.
