Keluarga Mahasiswa Muslim Veteriner (KMMV) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gadjah Mada University, successfully held a Leadership Training on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the An-Nahl Mosque, FKH UGM. The event aimed to equip members with leadership skills based on Islamic values while also supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This Leadership Training was designed to strengthen members’ capacity in managing organizations and developing leadership potential, both academically and socially. Participants were provided with material on leadership, self-development, and the importance of women’s roles and education in community development.
In the session discussing the importance of education in shaping intelligent and ethical leaders, participants were encouraged to understand that effective leadership must begin with quality education. Inclusive and sustainable education is key to building a foundation for leaders who can adapt to the changing times. Participants were expected to not only pursue academic achievements but also commit to expanding their knowledge and skills to make tangible contributions to society.
In addition to quality education, KMMV FKH UGM is also committed to supporting SDG No. 10, which focuses on reducing inequalities in various aspects of life, including in leadership. In the discussion session, participants were provided with an understanding of the importance of creating equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of social, economic, or gender background, in the leadership process. With the principles of inclusivity and social justice, it is hoped that participants will become leaders who not only care about personal success but also strive to reduce inequality and advance society as a whole.
Through this event, KMMV FKH UGM is committed to producing leaders who are not only academically intelligent but also have integrity and concern for education and equal opportunities in leadership. It is hoped that participants can apply these values to create positive change in campus life and society.
