COORPERATION IMPLEMENTATION BETWEEN FKH UGM AND PEMKAB BOJONEGORO WITH THE DEPARTURE (BY FIELDING) OF KKN STUDENTS

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta, in association with the regency government of Bojonegoro, through the board of animal husbandry and fishery, agreed on the development of the concept of technopark tourism object based on the cattle farming groups in Jono, Temayang, one of the sub regencies in Bojonegoro. One of the implementation of this agreement is the deployment of Community Service and Empowerment Assignment students (KKN – PPM) from UGM. The team, consisted of 29 students from different knowledge backgrounds and faculties. The students deployed on 29th of June and accepted directly by the Regent of Bojonegoro, Dr. Hj. Anna Muawanah. The acceptance ceremony was attended by many people, including, the field lecturer from the team, drh. Anggi Muchtar Pratama, M.Sc, and the head of Temayang, sub regent Ir. Heri Widodo, M.Si, governance secretary and the board of people welfare (Kesra), the board of territorial planning and development (bappeda), the board of animal husbandry and fisheries, the board of culture and tourism, the board of community and village empowerment (DPMD), the board of education, the board of farming, Cooperation, the board of industry and labor, board of health,  the board of national unity and politics, and the governance components of Bojonegoro.

The deployment of KKN students, as the part of the agreement, will be held for 3 periods (2019 – 2021). This year, the deployment theme is titled “Community Empowerment through the Development of Agro-eco-tourism to raise people’s welfare” with four main programs, which includes:

  • Tourism Management that includes homestay management, tour guide and EO training, leaflet making, tourism and village route and map making, tourism media and instagram-able spot program, sanitation inspection and toiletry inspection at homestays, barn automatization program through smart barn (a technology to accommodate barn lighting, water distribution for drinking, and temperature conditioning), and the formation for animal and livestock health cadres. This program also includes the preparation of family medicine plants or TOGA.
  • Entertainment program includes the empowerment of Tayub Arts, Gamanjono Batik, and Karawitan, making Jono Tourism Guide Book, tour packages, recycle works from corn humps, documentary videos on Jono Tourism Village, as well as procuring bulbous cows in the Cages of Purojaya Livestock Farmers Group.
  • Product Selling Program includes the improvement of product packaging of UMKM, training of product business standard with the public health office, e-commerce, and introduction of Desa Apps application.
  • Sekolah Masyarakat includes Gadjah Mada Mengajar, creating school viticulture parks, introducing dental health, persuading children to eat vegetables and to love animal.

These programs have been explained on various opportunities to the local community such as in general discussion forums with Jono officials, tourist attractions’ visits and surveys, History of Jono  Village explanation by archaeologists and historians, directly involved in the fields with farmers, and taking part in activities routine with the local community.
