The delegation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKH UGM) consisting of Dean, Vice Dean, and Assistant Vice Dean, as well as several young lecturer attended the Association of Japan-Indonesia Veterinary Education (AJIVE) Meeting. The event entitled “The 4th International Symposium in Veterinary Science: Strengthening the Collaboration Between Indonesia and Japan Veterinary School” was held on February 13-14, 2020 at Udayana University, Bali. The symposium activity was attended by eleven members of the Indonesian Veterinary Faculty Association (AFKHI) and three Veterinary Schools from Japan: Yamaguchi University, Gifu University, and Tottori University. Besides being attended by Deans from all FKH in Indonesia and Deans from Japan Veterinary Schools, this symposium was attended by dozens of participants, 13 poster presenters, and 24 oral presenters.

The results of this AJIVE meeting, have been signed with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establised the Indonesian-Japan Veterinary School. The MoU was signed between Yamaguchi University, as a representative of the Japan Veterinary School with FKH UGM, IPB, and Airlangga University as representatives of the Indonesian Veterinary School. Various has been agreed upon in this activity including: 1. Short stay program cooperation through outbound activities or bridging programs; 2. Summer training program at Yamaguchi University; 3. Postgraduate admission collaboration with MEXT Scholarship; 4. Visiting professor from Japan to give general lectures and training, 5. Implementation of distance learning using Webex, 6. Cooperation in research. Yamauchi University, which has obtained European standard accreditation (AEVE), provides information sharing to AFKHI members. Activity closed. In this activity, one of the UGM delegates (Marla Anggita, DVM, MSc) get an award as the best poster (Alfarisa).
